Authorizations in SAP BW, HANA and BW/4HANA
Testing Permission
If you want to cancel, share, or reset other users' jobs to scheduled status, you must have permission for the S_BTCH_ADM object with a value of Y. Alternatively, you can also grant the JOBACTION = MODI and JOBGROUP = permission for the S_BTCH_JOB object. The MODI promotion was introduced with SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.00 or can be recorded via SAP Note 1623250. The following illustration shows an example of how the JOBACTION = MODI privilege is expressed for the jobs of the users listed under JOBGROUP.

In the SU10 transaction, click the Permissions Data button in the User Selection pane. At this point there is a jump to the report RSUSR002. In the selection screen of the report that appears, you can select the multiple selection to the User field by clicking the arrow button and insert the users from your selection by pressing the button (upload from clipboard).

This means that activities could be triggered that could not be executed with the user's own authorizations.

S_PROJECT authorization object: The S_PROJECT authorization object enables you to work with customising projects. You can modify, view or delete projects, maintain status information, project documentation, and perform project evaluations.

During go-live, the assignment of necessary authorizations is particularly time-critical. The "Shortcut for SAP systems" application provides functions for this purpose, so that the go-live does not get bogged down because of missing authorizations.
